Who We Are
Established in 1996 by the Indigenous people of Yeliboya Island and Sierra Leonne, its primary objectives are to promote and protect the rights of women, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and children. DADA-SL focuses on gender equality, and fosters economic development, democratic governance, peace building, and community empowerment Initiatives.
Registered
DADA-SL is registered with the Ministries of Finance, Economic Development, Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Ministry of Education, Youth, & Sports.
Collaboration
DADA-SL works with the Bombali and Kambia District Councils, and the Sierra Leone Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (SLANGO).
Connections
DADA-SL also belongs to several civil society coalitions, consortiums and networks with human rights organizations that focuses on governance, health education, community development, economic empowerment, and peace building programs.
Support & Volunteer
Sierra Leonne is ravaged by the effects of decades of war, economic disparities, educational deprivation, lack of quality foods, non-existent technical training, abuse of young children and women, and too many long term challenges to list. DADA-SL focuses on all of these disparities, with the limited resources we have, and have been able to access. DADA-SL is in serious need of long term institutional support, as well as programmatic funding.
